COMMISSIONING A PORTRAIT
Pippa works from photographs, for the majority of her portraits. These photographs are provided by the client. If you need some guidance please request Pippa's information sheet on 'how to take a good photograph'. Also, if you live locally to Pippa, she can always come and take photos for you, however, there would be a charge for this.
The painting sizes below are the usual ones requested. However, if you have a different size in mind, please contact Pippa for a no obligation quote.

A 50% deposit is payable when the painting is commissioned. This is only refundable if the painting hasn't actually been started.
The final balance payment for the painting is due once it has been approved by you (an image will be sent to you by e mail or post). The final balance payment must be made and cleared before the actual painting is sent. There are no exceptions to this.
Please note that all prices quoted are for unframed work. Watercolour paintings are mounted ready for framing and oil paintings are on canvas stretched over a wooden frame, so they can be hung without an external frame, if you desire. Good quality framing can be arranged at cost. However, framing can be very personal. It will also add to the weight of the painting, if you are having it posted.
Postage is also extra, but charged at cost. Please note that Pippa is not liable for goods that are lost or damaged while in transit. Clients therefore, must bare in mind that they will need to fully insure the cost of their work, when determining the postage they require. Paintings are always very well packaged for posting.
If you are local to Pippa's studio, personal collection can also be arranged.
Depending on the complexity of the subject, oil paintings take between 6 - 8 weeks to complete and be dry enough to send. Watercolours take 2 - 3 weeks. However, at busy times such as Christmas, production times may be extended, as there are only so many hours in a day! So, to avoid disappointment, please allow plenty of time if you are having a portrait painted for a special occasion.
Another option, is to purchase one of Pippa's 'Commissioned Painting Gift Vouchers' which are a great idea if you are wanting to give a special gift but are short of time, or you feel the recipient would prefer to choose the subject themselves.
